Posture Coaching

Many people know that their posture needs some work but it’s hard to know what to do about it. Perhaps we’ll stand up straight and pull our shoulders back but these are hardly sustainable long term solutions. Improving posture requires training and skill learning like anything else and the skill in question is proprioception.

Proprioception is the skill of knowing where the different parts of our body are in space at any given time. To improve this skill, we learn to coordinate the muscle groups of our body to move with and against each other to create dynamic tension. Learning and practicing these new actions trains the muscular and nervous system to hold your skeleton in an improved position with a more balanced distribution of tension in the muscles.
